In addition to our role-based teams, members of Strong Towns ABQ can also volunteer in specific campaigns. These campaigns focus on both targeted policy efforts and broader advocacy goals, providing a meaningful way to contribute to the city's development. Whether you're passionate about a specific cause or want to help lead new initiatives, we welcome members to help shape and lead campaigns that align with our mission.
Current Campaigns:
Housing & Zoning Reform: Advocate for smart zoning policies, incremental density, mixed use development, and housing solutions that address Albuquerque’s housing crisis. Focus on expanding affordable, equitable, and diverse housing options through thoughtful changes in zoning laws.
End Highway Expansion: Work toward ending harmful highway expansion projects, advocating instead for smarter, more sustainable infrastructure investments that prioritize community needs over car-centric growth.
Outer Districts Group: Engage with Albuquerque’s suburban areas, fostering community development, providing education, and advocating for policy change that addresses the unique needs of these districts.
If you’re passionate about other Strong Towns priorities like ending parking mandates, promoting fiscal transparency, or creating safer streets, you can also form and lead a new campaign within our framework. Help us expand our reach and advocacy efforts!
